Accomplishments

Government Relations/Public Relations

  • Provided public outreach, and legislative and media services during permitting, construction, and operation of the first offshore Liquefied Natural Gas ( LNG) terminal along the East Coast
  • Worked with New England’s largest tug boat and towing company to promote improved safety standards and stronger environmental laws in Massachusetts
  • Promoted Boston-area ferry services by working with state and federal legislators, media outlets, and transportation officials to resolve scheduling, fuel, and ticketing issues

Coastal and Ocean Projects

  • Developed state and federal permitting strategies for the first offshore Liquefied Natural Gas ( LNG) terminal along the East Coast
  • Successfully addressed significant state regulatory issues at a former industrial waterfront facility in a Designated Port Area (DPA) located in the metropolitan Boston area
  • Developed successful Chapter 91 license approval strategies for a major pier facility on Cape Cod and a new restaurant in Gloucester’s DPA
  • Advised a leading nonprofit research facility on seafloor mapping and historic erosion characteristics and rates
  • Provided MHP and Chapter 91 licensing strategies and baseline plans to a prominent Massachusetts yacht club
  • Advised clients on Chapter 91 licensing requirements and approaches to developing Municipal Harbor Plans (MHPs)

Land-based Projects

  • Obtained MEPA certificates for golf courses in Central and Western Massachusetts
  • Developed and implemented a successful permitting and public relations strategy for a construction & demolition debris recycling facility in Central Massachusetts

Environmental Mitigation & Corporate Strategic Planning

  • Negotiated with state officials significant reductions in Chapter 91 penalties and worked to have these funds directed toward public waterfront improvements.
  • Advised Central Massachusetts homeowners and businesses on resolving potential state enforcement fines.
  • Worked with General Electric along the Housatonic River to promote locally-based environmental remediation plans

Transportation and Energy

  • Developed public outreach strategies for a major rail improvement project for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), the nation’s sixth largest public transit agency
  • Developed government relations, energy, and business development strategies for maritime transportation companies
  • N egotiated urban conservation land transactions with transportation agencies
